Look Out Future Generations of Garden Pests!

This pregnant Praying Mantis had been hanging around our front door for a few days so we relocated her to the 3 Sisters garden area.

Hopefully we will see more and more of these around the gardens.

This is what Wikipedia has to say about these bugs:

"During fall, praying mantis females deposit a sticky egg case on the underside of a leaf or on a twig. If the egg case survives winter, the offspring, called nymphs, emerge in late spring or early summer. The nymphs have voracious appetites and typically cannibalize each other if they don't have an adequate supply of aphids and other small insects."

That garden has always had a ton of aphids and other pests. Maybe this mother to be can help curb that. Only time will tell.
