Homemade Dill Pickles

Pickling cucumbers chillin'
about half of our jars

Dill in the window

Refreshing the cucumber water, chilling in ice water for a few hours before pickling makes a crisp pickle.

Fresh ice

Sanitizing mason jars

Water bath
Processing the homegrown garlic, dill and cukes.

Dill with jars

Sanitized jars ready to be filled with fresh cukes, dill, garlic and brine

Processing pickles in hot water bath

Late night style pickling

We didn't think we would see this!

Last few jars of pickles in the canner

Ended up making ten and a half gallons of pickled cucumbers.

Pickles are delicious
