Winter

The last four months in a nutshell:

new ceiling fan helping us heat our house with just the wood stove (second year now without any other heat sources!

home sweet home:

two things we need...

...to get the 2010 growing season going:

#1) a replacement pump head for the broken pump we currently have.

Not using technology as much anymore...

...for these are simpler times indeed. wood burnin', bread bakin', soup makin', flu coughing and snow shovelin'. when the latter stops we are constructing our first cold-farme! seed catalogues are yet to arrive.

keepin' it local

not only is our main heat source, wood harvested from the very local five acres we live on, but our dogs have been on a local, raw, and organic diet for longer than i can remember.

we are still alive

just to update after almost a month, we had a few out of town visitors and have been very busy around here. almost ready for next season, wood shed is half full. and everyday that it's nice enough i continue to get loads of wood up to the house. this might be the year i get all the dead trees cleared up.
